WaterGuru is a leader in empowering swimming pools owners to achieve resort-quality water conditions. The company has announced a commercial division which sells its SENSE Series 2 intelligent pool monitor to hotels, resorts and property management firms, apartment and condominium HOAs, country club, pool builders, and pool service companies.
Billy Parris who manages resorts for Venture Resorts says that the SENSE system has been a game changer. The pools I managed used to cause me anxiety. It is difficult to measure the chemicals in an old-fashioned manner, and accuracy is key. What if a swimmer got sick in one of your pools? We can avoid this liability by using the SENSE system. It also gives us a chance to give our guests a better experience and improves our health department record. We solve problems before anyone is aware of them.
WaterGuru has recently launched Series 2, the second generation smart pool monitor of its SENSE smart water chemistry monitor. This expands the testing regime from two parameters (chlorine & pH) to five parameters (chlorine & pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA). It also monitors the temperature of the pool and its water flow. The expanded capabilities of SENSE Series 2 offer users a robust and affordable water health monitoring system that allows them to manage large portfolios at scale.
Grant Linder, the owner of a pool-service company who installs WaterGuru Sens devices in client pools, says “I don’t have to worry as much about pH because I’m using the WaterGuru Sens in each pool.” I can check the pH and the chlorine every day. I can tell if the chlorine is getting low or if I need to visit the pool to see if anything has changed. “I mean, you should work smarter and not harder.”
According to the CDC guidelines, owners of public hot tubs and pools must:
- Continuously between 1:3 parts/million and free chlorine
- Test chemicals twice a day at the very least (or hourly if they are heavily used).
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and measurements of pH/disinfectant
WaterGuru’s CMO Jeff Siegel says that the CDC guidelines are stricter for commercial operators and with good reason. “Things are likely to go wrong in a pool that is shared, especially if it’s a small hot tub where multiple people use the same water. This is a significant liability risk, even for those who subcontract pool maintenance. A management dashboard displaying pool data is a great way for hotel and property managers, who are always in the loop, to be able to take action when necessary. It is also a great tool for evaluating the performance of pool service providers, who must maintain pool health even when they are not on site.
