Three new product recalls

Three recent product recalls have affected the swimming pool and spa industries.

Jacuzzi hot tubs

Jacuzzi Hot tubs – Jacuzzi J200, J300, J400 and J500 collection hot spas. The model and serial number are engraved on a silver plate in the hot tub’s equipment bay.

Dates of sale: 29 Jul 2021 – 09 February 2022

Reasons for the recall: The temperature sensors of the spa can show incorrect temperatures, resulting in water that is hotter than set.

Danger: The higher temperatures of the water in a spa can lead to heat stroke and thermal burns.


Action Required:

  1. The Jacuzzi Spas Recall webpage is the best place to find out if your spa is included in the recall. You can also get more information about the recall.
  2. Spa World Australia will arrange a free service for any affected consumers. Never use your spa unless you have checked the temperature using an external thermometer.

Intex Dinosaur Play Centre Portable Pool

Available: between 26 April 2022 – 21 February 2023

Defect The Dinosaur Play Centre fails to comply with the labelling requirement of the mandatory standard on portable swimming pools. It does not meet the requirement for 3 metre warning legibility.

Danger: Inflatable Pools without the correct safety labeling may be incorrectly used. If the product is used incorrectly, there is an increased drowning risk.

Required Action: Consumers should immediately stop using the pool and return it to the store for a refund.

TK Maxx Nest Egg Swing Chairs

TJX Australia Pty Ltd recalls Nest Swing Egg Chairs with style numbers PMK-6501 or PMK-6501. On a tag that is attached to the item, you can find the style number.

Available in TK Maxx from 28/08/2020 until 30/12/2022.

Defect : Design flaw causing chair instability resulting in chair tipping over or collapsing.

Hazard The chair can topple or collapse while a consumer sits in it, creating a fall risk.

Required action: Consumers should stop using the recalled eggs chairs immediately and return them to TK Maxx for a refund. They can also contact TJX Australia to get instructions on dismantling and disposing of the chair in order to receive a refund.
