In Queensland, a fire has engulfed a business that offers events adjacent to a Freedom Pools dealer in Slacks Creek. The fire began at around 2:30am on Tuesday, May 2.
Freedom Pools owned both properties. However, the rear portion of the battle axe block, where the fire broke out, was leased by A Noble Event, an event company.
A tragic firefighter lost her life after being injured while fighting the fire. Another firefighter is hospitalized with serious injuries.
The building that houses the pool business in front is not affected.
At this point, the cause of the fire and the way the firefighters were injured is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
