While innovation plays an important role, pool builders and designers must also be able to think ahead. The pool industry in North America has seen innovation improve over the past decade. Projects have become more attractive, more structurally sound, more diversely designed, and equipment has become more efficient, impressive, easy to use, and more energy-efficient.

These pools are known for their exceptional designs, beautiful constructions, attention to detail, and stunning beauty. There are many innovative and extraordinary features that are currently available. These include moving pool floors, sunken living areas with fire pits in the swimming pool, cantilever decks for water walls, acrylic windows and lazy rivers. There are also equipment bunkers and two-storey islands. Two of the most popular upgrades for pools are tanning ledges or Baja shelves.

A few companies are based in the U.K. or the southwestern U.S. to see pool design innovations and upgrades.

The sunken living area and the floating island

A floating island and sunken area are two innovative features that can be integrated into a pool design. These rooms can be accessed from either the deck or via a series floating stones that create a walkway.

How the design is created and built will depend on the company’s building practices. The integration of different rooms around and in the water creates an interactive space with multiple views. This is especially true for infinity edge detail.
