It’s the start of the year as I write this. The Midwest, where I live, is experiencing snowstorms and freezing temperatures. I am trying to find affordable ways to stay warm. Although our pools may seem like the last thing on our minds, it shouldn’t. We need to be ready for summer, which is coming quickly. This includes getting your to-do lists in order, yard improvements completed, and pool maintenance prepared. It also means educating yourself on all pool accessories and improvements that are coming out.

Our pools are meant to be our sanctuary, our suburban oasis. No one wants to canonball, swan-dive, or backstroke in a pool that is more like a swamp. We don’t want to spend our weekends cleaning, skimming, and pumping out dirt and debris. Let’s go back to the headline. It mentioned technology. What technology will I add to my pool? We don’t think of our backyards as smart in the same way we do our phones, cars, or homes. But, there is a trend towards the Smart-Yard concept, and it starts with your pool.

The CES2023 global showcase of all the upcoming tech marvels just took place in Las Vegas. Several pool innovations were displayed throughout the event. Aiper, a new innovator and trend setter, unveiled its Seagull cordless robotic pool cleaner series. It was led by the Seagull Pro. This earned Aiper a nomination for the CES 2023 Innovation Award. Aiper made a big splash in 2017 by introducing cordless robotic pool cleaners to the market. A robotic pool cleaner can save pool owners hundreds of thousands of dollars and allow them to spend more time relaxing.

It costs less than $1 per month to charge as compared to your pool pump which can cost between $0.40 and $0.50 each time. Aiper’s new Seagull series promises that users will “take back their time and enjoy their pool.” It costs less than $1 per month to charge compared to your pool pump, which can cost around $0.40 – $0.50 each time you use it. The Seagull Pro is their latest model and features a three-hour battery, WavePath Navigation Technology, and a quad-motor pool cleaner. This technology increases its coverage by reducing the amount of products that clean in random or erratic patterns

Are cordless pool cleaners still worth the cost in 2023? 100% absolutely, yes! But why? Robotic pool cleaners can clean your pool for free. That’s all. Even if jokes aside, robotic pool cleaners are very cost-effective, efficient, and eco-friendly. If you still have doubts about their effectiveness, here are two reasons to consider them.

First, most robotic pool cleaners come with a built-in filter. This saves water. Although a robotic pool cleaners’ filter will not be the best solution for all your filter needs, it will reduce the strain on your pool’s existing filter. A pool filter can take anywhere from 1,000 to 4,000 liters water to clean. But with a robot pool cleaner, you only need one bucket of water per year to clean it. This saves time, money and allows you to save thousands of liters each year. This means that your pool will require less maintenance and repair, potentially saving thousands.

The majority of cleaners are equipped with sophisticated pumps that can cycle up to 90 GPM water through your pool. This prevents your pool from becoming stagnant or accumulating bacteria and algae. These pumps are a better option than hand cleaning or scrubbing which can release bacteria and debris back into your pool.

It’s going be an exciting year in pool technology. I can’t wait for my Seagull Pro. My problem is that I am terrible at remembering to charge my phones. The impressive battery life means I can clean my pool twice or three times. I also expect my pool to look great with the WavePath Navigation Technology and the quad-motor system. Aiper is proving to be a formidable pool cleaner and is putting a stop to all others!
