Major pool retailers merge to expand influence

Groupe d’achat M.P. Inc. and Sima Group Inc. recently announced the union of their two companies in a new company, SMP Purchasing Group Inc.

Groupe d’achat M.P. Inc. and Sima Group Inc., consortium of pool and spa contractors, recently revealed the union of their two companies in a new company, SMP Purchasing Group Inc.

This alliance aims to strengthen the competitive positioning of the Aqua Master Group and Groupe Maître Piscinier, and Sima Pools and Spas banners in their respective markets and to ensure the sustainability of the independent retailer model.

SMP Purchasing Group Inc. will have 76 stores located in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, and certain provinces of Western Canada under the Aqua Master and Sima banners.

The Aqua Master Group and Groupe Maître Piscinier, and Sima Pools and Spas brands have been part of the pool and spa world in Quebec for more than 30 years.

Groupe d’achat M.P. Inc. is a group of 32 independent merchants operating under the banner Aqua Master Group and Groupe Maître Piscinier. Sima Group Inc. is a group of independent retailers in the pool and spa sector, most of which operate under the Sima Pools and Spas banner.
