Hard Rock Hotel brings life to rooftop pool

The Hard Rock Hotel Marbella has just unveiled its new rooftop pool featuring cutting-edge mosaics created by ONIX.

The design was a joint effort by designers German Alvarez and Jose Manuel Fernandez in conjunction with Cuarto Interior. The duo credited their geometric design featuring various neon colors to the Ye-Ye movement of the Spanish 1960s.

Focusing on ideas of music and freedom, the movement is characterized by bright blue hues and geometric lines. This style comes through in the Alice blue and Maya blue speculum made by ONIX for the production. The design was made to hope visitors embrace the sentiments of fun, dance and free-spirited music. The old styles of the 60s are added upon by modern needs such as non-slip glass surfaces.

ONIX’s use of glass mosaic tiles furthers up this modern shine. ONIX, a Spanish-based company, brings classic style to a highly sustainable business model. Each tile is manufactured with 98% recycled glass and smelted with highly energy-efficient photovoltaic energy. Due to both Cuarto and ONIX’s efforts on the Hard Rock project, they have received a nomination for the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards and the International Hotel & Property Awards 2023.
