The Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) has named Donald Ball, Sr. (Don) the 2023 Person of the Year. Don is president and wwner of The Pool Works of Florida Inc., current FSPA executive committee member and immediate past president, and Florida Swims Foundation president.
The award was presented at the 2024 FSPA Awards on the eve of FSPA’s 52nd annual Everything Under the Suns Expo.
Each year, all FSPA chapter presidents vote to select a Person of the Year based on the effort and effectiveness of the individual in providing the FSPA with leadership, commitment and service.
With more than 35 years of industry knowledge and experience, Don has contributed not only to leadership of the FSPA Board of Directors and the Florida Swims Foundation, but also on the Florida Building Code Task Force efforts and on the legislative front through FSPA’s Pool Industry Political Action Committee (PIPAC).
In 2023, Don served as the FSPA Board of Directors president and an executive committee member. Simultaneously, Don also accepted the position of president of the Florida Swims Foundation, FSPA’s charitable nonprofit organization, in which he continues to serve.
