Clarification of “supply cords” for swimming pool heat pumps

SPASA received several inquiries from industry stakeholders seeking clarification on how to interpret Clause 25 in the following Australian Standard As/NZS 600335.2.40 :2019 Home and similar electrical appliances- Safety Special requirements for electrical heat pump, air conditioners and dehumidifiers.

Standards Australia confirmed that “and” means that appliances can be supplied with a power cord with a plug that includes all the items below. The “and” indicates that ALL of the items on the list are required to be met in order to satisfy the conditional element in the Australian Standard.

SPASA recommends that members check with their technical departments to make sure they are in compliance.
