The 2023 Pleatco Pool Tech Search, attracting numerous entries, saw Canadian talent shine, earning prestigious awards and demonstrating innovation and dedication in the pool and spa industry.

Hosted by Pleatco, a subsidiary of Pentair, this event highlighted the exceptional skills and creativity of professionals from Canada and the U.S., establishing a new standard of excellence in the industry.

Leading the pack, Cristina Forcione of Seychelles Pools & Spas in Lasalle, Que., was celebrated as a “Grand Finalist.” Forcione’s heartfelt gratitude echoed her deep appreciation for the recognition, highlighting her journey of hard work and the validation of her expertise in the field.

“I’m feeling immensely grateful and honoured to receive recognition from Pleatco Pool Tech Search,” says Forcione. “It’s a testament to my skills, knowledge, and expertise in the field, and I’m truly humbled by this honour.”

Another Canadian, Rob Stewart from ROBCO Water in Hammond, Ont., received the esteemed “Lifetime Achievement Award,” marking his profound impact through education on water chemistry and dedication to excellent customer service.

From the United States, Wes Kane of Pools Unlimited Incorporated in Elliot City, Md., also emerged as a “Grand Finalist.” Kane’s enthusiasm underscores the award as a catalyst for his continued pursuit of excellence.

“I’m feeling absolutely thrilled to have received recognition from the Pleatco Pool Tech Search,” he says. “This is the first time that I’ve won an award or been a part of such a prestigious event, and I must say it feels truly humbling and exhilarating at the same time.”

Ben Gardea of Cody Pools in San Antonio, Tex., was honoured with the “Young Leader Award,” emphasizing the significance of the platform it provides for leadership and educational outreach within the industry. Gardea’s acknowledgment extends beyond personal achievement, celebrating the support and encouragement from his network.

“The Customer Service Award” went to Joe Puccio of Clean & Clear Pools in Houston, Tex., who highlighted the team effort and customer backing that underpinned his win, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in achieving service excellence.

Rounding out the accolades, Branden Lewis from Lewis Pool Service in Centerville, Tenn., was bestowed with the “Advancing Technology Award.” Lewis expressed his enthusiasm for the recognition and the educational opportunities it brings, aiming to elevate his business to new heights.

The winners of the 2023 Pleatco Pool Tech Search, chosen by their peers, exemplify innovation, teamwork, and dedication in the pool and spa industry. Their achievements establish new standards for excellence and motivate a shared commitment to sustainable progress and exceptional customer service.
