Pool Nation hosted its second annual awards ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada at International Pool Spa Expo. These award shows are like high school reunions, but with friends you enjoy hanging out with. John Chakalis said, “It’s a place to celebrate each other’s achievements and successes; where you build each other up rather than tear each other down.” The award show, presented by the Pool Nation Podcast and PoolPro, recognizes achievements in a variety categories.

The Pool Nation awards show is very popular with pool professionals. It is supported by the pool and spa community. Uniquely, the nominees are chosen by pool industry peers. Edgar De Jesus, Pool Nation host, stated that everyone wants a better industry. However, it is clear that not all are equal. Collaboration is the key to success.
I have had the pleasure of speaking with many of the award winners and can confirm their legitimacy. Korey wax is an outstanding sales rep. Wayne Ivusich deserves a lifetime achievement award. He has worked for Taylor Technologies for over 30 years. Element Pool company is a new and growing pool builder in San Antonio. We’ve previously written about them here at Pool Magazine. It is refreshing to see a young pool company named Builder of the Year. Round Rock Pool Pros has also been recognized as a leader in the service industry. It is great to see these wonderful companies get the recognition they deserve.
Two young professionals were recognized in the 30 under 40 category. They are Alexandar Jacobs from United Aqua Group, and Alisa Gotay from 787 Serrano Construction LLC. These are people you might have met in the pool industry, but who are quickly making a name.
Each of the category winners produced an innovative product this year that helped drive the industry forward. We’ve featured many of the top pool category winners right here at Pool Magazine. All the winners deserve to be commended for a remarkable year. All of them deserve continued success in 2023.
