This family, with two children at home, was delighted to have an area that complimented their active and healthy lifestyles. They decided, like many others, to search for more land in a cottage in the country. They revalued their property and began looking for a forever home that had lots of land. The homeowners called Pool Craft, the same company who built their first pool back in 2015, to install their forever pool when they found the property near Uxbridge in Ontario. Repeat clients for pool builders are a testament to their company, team and design process.
A plan for design
The idea was to bring all the elements that the family thought they would like in a cottage into their ideal backyard. On the wish list were a large swimming pool with plenty of room for children to play in, a hot-tub, a water feature and a large patio.
The canvas before construction was a rolling meadow with scattered trees and mature forest at the back.
Each project begins with a visit to the site where measurements are taken and elevation levels recorded. In this case, the slight elevation change meant that some retaining was needed to get to the pool area. The homeowners wanted to retain some of the existing flagstone in the landscape. The initial challenges were relatively few.
Together, the homeowners and the team came up with an idea that included a horizontal pool, a patio on the side for a sitting area and a pergola. The final design was completed in November 2021, and the company is excited to start construction in spring 2022.
Unexpected challenges
Pool Craft faced a time lag in the planning phase of all its projects during the pandemic. The time between planning and building was a major obstacle for Pool Craft.
