Coppter Water Technologies is an Israeli company located in the Negev. They have developed a cost-effective and non-toxic solution to disinfect wastewater, water reservoirs and swimming pools.

isRAEL21c reports that the monovalent copper ion has antimicrobial properties and is the main ingredient in the startup’s sterilizing solution. The startup owner achieved a safe concentration by lowering the concentration of copper in +1 oxidation.

In the report, Yuval Kupitz, the CEO of the startup, says that a Jacuzzi is used to test its cutting-edge technologies. Kupitz says that in a Jacuzzi of 1,000 litres (264 gallons), there are a trillion bacteria. He stressed that Coppter Water’s technology eliminates bacteria in under 10 minutes.

According to the report, the firm has raised $500,000 so far. It plans to build a proof-of concept (POC) for a medium sized wastewater treatment facility, and to establish beta locations to disinfect swimming pools and Jacuzzis if the next investment round is successful.
