The City of Cote Saint-Luc (Que.) has filed a $3,000,000 lawsuit against a construction company. It is claiming that the mold and water problems leading to humidity issues and leaky ceilings at the Aquatic and Community Centre facility (ACC) have been caused by the company’s negligence.

A report by CTV News Montreal states that water seeped from ceilings into different rooms of the facility. This further led to the wearing of exterior bricks.

The lawsuit also alleges poor ventilation and heating in swimming pool areas, irregular temperature in the shower area and extreme humidity in the server rooms.

According to court documents, the developer offered a 15-year guarantee for the roof.

According to the reporter, the developer collected $18million for the project in 2011. The city paid one-third of the charges while Ottawa and Quebec paid the remainder.

The February 2023 hearing is the next scheduled in this case.
