Prince George, B.C. pools closed for maintenance and upgrades

Canfor Leisure Pool and Prince George Aquatic Centre in Prince George (B.C.) will be closed for annual maintenance as well as improvements.

Canfor Leisure Pool, Prince George, B.C. is closed until September 3, and the Prince George Aquatic Centre will be shut down from September 4 to October 9. The closures are primarily for annual maintenance of both pools and improvements to the Canfor facility.

In a recent report by Prince George Post the city announced that it would be closing the pool in preparation for the anniversary. It was decided to schedule maintenance prior to the anniversary to address any warranty concerns or outstanding construction tasks.

The report also states that the Canfor pool maintenance and enhancements encompass a variety of activities. The activities include painting the interior and exterior, maintaining the windows, roof and doors, adding storage hangers to pool lanes, updating the audio/visual system, thorough inspections and cleaning the NinjaCross and waterslide.

According to the report, while the Canfor Pool is closed, lessons in swimming will be moved to the Prince George Aquatic Centre. The Aquatic Centre in Prince George will be open from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm on August 7, British Columbia Day.

The Aquatic Centre will close its doors for maintenance after the Canfor Pool is finished. During this time, however, the Canfor Pool will remain open to the public and operate at extended hours.
