POOLCORP, the world’s largest wholesale distributor of swimming pool and outdoor living products, proudly announces its sponsorship of Water Safety Day – an impactful event hosted by Off the Field NFL Wives Association and in collaboration with the YMCA of Greater New Orleans. This opportunity underscores POOLCORP’s commitment to community engagement through its SWIMPACT! program, which aims to ensure that children and families everywhere can enjoy the water safely and confidently.
“We’re honored to collaborate with the YMCA of Greater New Orleans, our original SWIMPACT! partner, and the NFL Wives Association for Water Safety Day,” says Jennifer Neil, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at POOLCORP. “Super Bowl LIX in our backyard offers a chance to amplify our shared cause on a national stage. Water Safety Day will spotlight the importance of swim education, and our support will ensure its not a one-time event for these kids, but the beginning of a journey to build their confidence and safety in the water.”
“Water Safety Day is a testament to the incredible impact we can achieve when organizations come together to support a lifesaving initiative,” says Gordon Wadge, Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Greater New Orleans. “This event highlights the power of collaboration, bringing together partners like POOLCORP, Off the Field NFL Wives Association, USA Swimming, and so many others to address the critical need for water safety education. Together, we’re creating a ripple effect of safety, awareness, and opportunity that will save lives in our New Orleans community for generations to come.”
Since its inception in 2021, SWIMPACT! has supported swimming lessons for more than 42,000 children and training for 3,000 lifeguards. The pilot program, launched at the YMCA of Greater New Orleans, has grown to include 24 YMCA associations nationwide. The company’s 6,000 employees and 125,000 customers also play a crucial role in the program by donating time and swim gear for program participants to remove barriers that might prevent children and lifeguards from participating.
