The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance announces the appointment of the Standard Writing Committee of the ANSI/APSP/ICC-1 American National Standard of Public Swimming Pools and requests input from all parties interested. The APSP-1 Standard is being renamed as the PHTA/ICC-1 Standard of Public Pool and Spa Design and Construction and Installation.

The PHTA-1 SWC is revising the standard establishing the provisions that apply to construction, alteration and movement of aquatic venues and public pools and spas, as well as renovation, replacement and repair. The SWC has reviewed and considered revisions to the standard that will be presented to PHTA’s American National Standards Institute consensus voting body (ANSI), the Standards Consensus Committee.
Interested parties may attend meetings as observers during the revision process. Request for Change Forms can be submitted by anyone to the SWC.
