Paragon Pools/Float Like A Duck Joined by Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines for PHTA Step Into Swim Grant

(Las Vegas, NV) October 2025 – Representatives from Paragon Pools/Float Like A Duck, the City of Las Vegas and UNLV Student Rec and Wellness Center and PHTA joined Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines for a ceremonial PHTA Step Into Swim 2025 grant presentation during the Pool and Spa Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Grant: $8,000.00

2025 Pool and Hot Tub Alliance – Step Into Swim grant recipient, Paragon Pools/Float Like a Duck distributed 100% of the funds to two Las Vegas valley organizations: the City of Las Vegas Rec- Aquatics Division ($5,000) and the UNLV SRWC-Aquatics ($3,000) to provide FREE swimming lessons for at-risk youths in the community.

Paragon Pools’ Float Like A Duck award-winning water safety initiative has received 5 grants totaling $31,000 from the PHTA Step Into Swim program. 100% of the grants have been distributed to organizations across the Las Vegas Valley to provide no-cost swim lessons for disadvantaged youths. To date, close to 2,000 children have benefitted from the program who have received vital instruction in proper swimming techniques and safety skills.

In addition to gaining lifesaving skills, learning to swim can instill confidence, promote a healthy lifestyle and lead one to exciting adventures and remarkable careers. “The Step Into Swim grant is very important to our community,” states Joseph Vassallo, CBP president of Paragon Pools and founder of Float Like A Duck. “Southern Nevada is known for its many aquatic environments. The grant provides financial support allowing more families to access swimming programs to learn how to swim and be safe
