MoistureShield and RDI Railing Expand Distribution, Announce Expanded Partnership with Great Southern Wood Preserving’s Yellawood Brand

MoistureShield and RDI Railing, Oldcastle APG’s signature deck and rail brands, today announced an expanded distribution agreement with Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated. This will further enable access to railing and composite decking solutions for customers in Hagerstown, Md., Rocky Mount, Va., Fombell, Pa. and Millwood, Ky.

“Partnering with Great Southern allows us to significantly grow the presence of MoistureShield decking and RDI railing products across the eastern U.S.,” says Matthew Bruce, Vice President of Sales at Oldcastle APG. “This strategic alliance positions both companies for substantial market expansion, allowing more customers to Live Well Outside.”

With these additions, Great Southern will now offer MoistureShield products and RDI Railing solutions in all these key markets. The addition of MoistureShield’s alternative decking and RDI’s railing systems to Great Southern’s portfolio further extends the geographic reach and customer service capabilities of both Great Southern and Oldcastle APG.

“Aligning these products and geographies provides more options for our dealers and further fulfills our pledge of providing world-class customer service with a one-stop shopping experience,” says Mark Smith, General Manager of Great Southern’s Northeast Region. With a single call, dealers across the region will now be able to access a more robust portfolio of products inclusive of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, MoistureShield composite decking, and RDI alternative railing products.

MoistureShield’s Vision, Meridian, Elevate and Vantage composite decking products are almost entirely made from recycled materials, such as post-consumer plastic, industrial plastic, wood fibers and other content. A leader in its category for innovation and sustainability, MoistureShield decking contributes to LEED green building certifications, diverts 27 million pounds of plastics from landfills, and recycles more than 65 million pounds of wood fiber every year — sparing the equivalent of 15,000 trees.

With its patent-pending OneTen built-in centralized tensioning system, RDI Elevation Rail can install 38% faster than the leading competition*. The built-in centralized tensioning system–a unique mechanism in the industry–eliminates the tedious task of tensioning each cable individually and decreases the number of seasonal adjustments. Its modern, industrial design offers a continuous top rail for both stair and level applications, while its adjustable panels enable installation indoors or outdoors without obstructing views. RDI Elevation Rail is available in pre-assembled kits with pre-installed brackets and pre-strung, stainless-steel cables.

*Claim based on a 12’x18’ deck with 8 posts and 7 panels (Elevation Rail installed 49 minutes faster than competitive cable railing install of 129 minutes)
