The pool’s finish is achieved by welding-in-place PVC membranes. This system offers unique advantages that are not available with other systems, such as the ability to create a custom-made pool. marbelite, stone-coloured quartz finishes or thermoplastic coating. The main advantage of the membrane pool coating is that it doesn’t crack in freeze-thaw or earthquake conditions. The membrane seals the pool’s structure and keeps it watertight. It is ideal for renovating existing pools and installing new ones.

This service is easily added to a company’s offering if they have a team of qualified installers who are skilled in applying these membranes. You can also use it to cover cracked, peeled, or leaky gunite pools. Professionals are increasingly considering weld-in place membranes as a profitable addition to their businesses and taking the time to teach their staff how to properly install them. PVC membranes that are weld-in place offer customers a unique finish to their pool. They also provide a way for companies with this skill set to keep their employees busy all winter.

Training crews

Some membrane suppliers offer assistance to installers and builders, as proper training is essential. It is easy to install this product. Pool pros don’t always realize it. There are very low barriers to entry as pool businesses do not have to spend large amounts of money on equipment or stock the material. The membranes are available in rolls of 24.4m (80ft) and any leftover material can be used for another job. Installers prefer to store the membrane in spring, so that they don’t have to rely on suppliers. This can reduce the risk of long lead times.

Because they are installed on-site, weld-in place reinforced PVC membranes offer the best fit for custom pools.

Rolls of PVC membrane can be ordered according to each job and delivered directly to the jobsite. Although there is a learning curve as with all equipment repairs, it can be accomplished much faster than other types.
