Ken Howard joins the Pool & Spa Apprenticeship & Learning Committee

The Pool & Spa Apprenticeship and Training Committee are excited to announce Ken Howard as the new Director of the Pool & Spa Apprenticeship and Training Committee.

When he was 16 years old, Ken began his career in San Diego’s electrical industry. After working in the electrical field for four years, he was offered the opportunity to open his own landscape business. He was introduced to swimming pool construction while working in the electrical industry. Ken built a number of swimming pools in North San Diego County over the next 20 years. He also managed and designed projects.

The design-build process included the construction of a new swimming pool and spa, as well as renovations, remodeling, demolition, pool equipment repairs & replacement, chemical automation upgrades, and electrical work. Concrete work included driveways, patios and pool decks. Later, ICF (Insulating Concrete Forms), swimming pool design and construction was added to the list of services.

Ken has five CA Contracting Licenses and a CBP (Certified Building Professional), as well as PPSO (professional Pool & Spa Owner) designations from the APSP/PHTA. The focus has been on peer education about the installation of chemical automation for residential spa/pool combos.

Ken is currently the owner of Ultimate Pool.com a full-service-swimming pool repair and service business in North County San Diego. He also serves as the president of Ultimate Pool Tools
