The Lewiston Fire Department reported that a fire broke out in a backyard pool filled with yard waste at the intersection between 5 th Street and Bryden Avenue in Lewiston Idaho last week.

A report from the Lewiston Tribune states that around 10:40 pm, first responders found white smoke and flames in the backyard of the home. The firefighters gained access to the backyard where they found a large in-ground pool on fire with yard debris. No nearby structures were in danger, so no additional resources were needed.

The report also stated that the fire department asked mutual assistance from Asotin County Fire District No. 1 to use their water tenders. This allowed Bryden Avenue to remain open, and traffic to continue to flow while a significant amount of water is used to extinguish a debris fire.

Crews remained at the scene for about two hours, ensuring that the fire was contained in the concrete pool structure. There were no injuries reported.
