(Alexandria) – The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, the trade association that represents the industry of swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas, is proud to announce Franceen Gonzalez as the first winner of the PHTA Achievement Awards. Spa
The PHTA Award for Achievement is presented to an individual that has shown a commitment to quality in their work over a long period of time.
Joseph Laurino Ph.D., Chairman of PHTA’s Board of Directors, presented the award.
Gonzales, who has over 25 years’ experience in the aquatics sector, is currently Chief Experience Officer at WhiteWater, an equipment manufacturer for water parks based in Canada. She served as chair of the PHTA Board of Directors for 2020, and was instrumental in reorganizing the technical governance structure of PHTA. Gonzales’ knowledge of health codes, indoor aquatics standards, and safety measures in the industry was crucial to creating the PHTA Technical Advisory Council, as well as its reporting committees. She helped streamline the American National Standards Institute’s (ANSI) standard development process for PHTA.
Franceen Gonzales is the only person who deserves to receive the first PHTA Award, says Laurino, president and CEO of Periodic Products, Inc. She is a tireless contributor, leader, team member, friend, and mentor. PHTA has made great strides in the industry because of her vision and leadership.
