Fluidra, the global leader in equipment and connected solutions in the pool and wellness sector, has signed an agreement to purchase 100% of the NCWG group, a leading distributor of swimming pool equipment in Portugal, in a deal that will enable Fluidra to expand its product offering and customer portfolio, and to strengthen its geographical presence in Portugal.
NCWG’s net turnover in 2023 was around 7 million euros. Based in the city of Sintra and with a team of more than 40 employees, NCWG has been a reference in the sector in Portugal since its founding in 1998. The company’s main activity is the distribution of swimming pool products with internationally recognized and owned brands such as Wise, PoolHoy and PoolWay.
NCWG has collaborated with Fluidra since 2016, and has an extensive logistics network, a wide product portfolio and an established customer base.
João Couchinho, NCWG’s founder and managing director, will join the Fluidra´s team to lead the group’s business in Portugal. “Since the beginning of our cooperation, we have strengthened our relationship with Fluidra and found that we share the same goals: being leaders in our sector. We are happy to join the Fluidra team to serve our customers even more effectively” says Couchinho.
“The integration of NCWG significantly strengthens our position in Portugal, as well as incorporating a great team,” comments Carles Franquesa, Fluidra’s EMEA General Manager. “This transaction will generate significant benefits for our customers, suppliers and employees and we will work together to achieve our goals”.
The acquisition is subject to approval by the competition authorities and other customary conditions and is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
