This 501(c),(3) non-profit also manages the scholarship fund and funds swim lessons throughout the state.
The Margaret M. Brown Scholarship Fund, named after Derek Brown’s mother, has been a valuable and esteemed asset for students and their parents in the pool and spa industries for over 30 years. My father Ken Brown established this fund in honor of my mother over 30 years ago. The Brown family supports the FSPA, swimming pool industry and continuing education of our most deserving youth.
Merit scholarships are available to students at any level of post-secondary schooling. These merit scholarships are based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service, and a research report on a topic related to the pool industry. The program has given out an average of $25,000.00 per year to the dependents of pool professionals.
