Ellis & Associates Sponsors the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code

International Aquatic Safety and Risk Management Consulting Firm Invests in CMAHC with Silver Level Sponsorship

MARICOPA, ARIZ.Ellis & Associates (E&A) is enhancing its support for the Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC), a nonprofit organization that promotes the health and safety of people, families, and staff members at public swimming facilities, by becoming a Silver sponsor. As a Silver level sponsor, E&A is supporting CMAHC’s mission for healthy and safe swimming through management, updates, and promotion of voluntary adoption for CDC’s Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC).

Founded in 1983 as the world’s first, dedicated aquatic safety and risk management firm, Ellis & Associates has always been at the forefront of researching, developing, and teaching advanced life-saving skills. The company partners with clients from around the world to provide a comprehensive suite of safety and operational solutions for any type of aquatic facility. Ellis & Associates’ innovative and proactive approach elevates aquatic safety for all, driving its unified mission of zero drownings.

“The work done by CMAHC members and staff truly makes a difference in aquatic safety,” said Richard A. Carroll (“RAC”), Senior Vice President and CCO, E&A. “It is my honor to serve on the CMAHC Board and support the organization through volunteerism, financial contribution, and sharing E&A’s vast expertise informed by more than 800 client aquatic facilities around the world.”

“Ellis & Associates has been a longstanding supporter of CMAHC and, quite notably, in 2020, the firm’s vanGUARD™ aquatic leadership program was named the first-ever lifeguard supervisor course to receive CMAHC Certification,” said Kristie Riester, Executive Director, CMAHC. “We are thrilled to have them join our amazing sponsorship line-up – a testament to the importance of the Model Aquatic Health Code and its safety and health standards.”

About CMAHC: The Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code (CMAHC) was created to manage updates to, and promote voluntary adoption of, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC), the only all-inclusive national model pool code. The MAHC is kept sustainable, current, and complete because the people who use it also research, develop, discuss, and vote on proposed changes through membership in the CMAHC. The CMAHC submits proposed changes to CDC, advising how the MAHC needs to change to keep up with the latest science and best practices. Throughout the year, CMAHC staff educate local and state authorities, aquatic facility owners and operators, designers and builders, manufacturers, and suppliers about the MAHC and the potential it provides to ensure a healthy and safe swimming experience for everyone.
