Coverings 2023 Exceeds expectations for the International Tile and Stone Industry

May 3, 2023 ARLINGTON VA. – The organizers of Coverings, the largest ceramic tile and natural-stone event in North America have announced that Coverings, 2023, exceeded expectations. Attendance was up by 50 percent from the previous year, with nearly 27,000 attendees gathered at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, April 18-21. The event was a match for pre-pandemic attendance and one of the most dynamic conferences and expositions in Coverings 34-year history as the leader in the tile and natural stone industry.

Coverings The 2023 event was a four-day, action-packed event that covered 450,000 square feet of net show floor area in addition to the North and South Concourses at the convention center. The show floor was dominated by huge global pavilions, hosted by leading ceramic tile associations from around the world, including those in the United States, Italy and Spain, Brazil and Turkey, Portugal and India.

Exhibitors from 40 countries showcased their latest and most innovative ceramic tiles, natural stones, tools, machinery, and technologies. The exposition was dominated by international exhibitors, who made up 74% of the total.

Coverings’ 2023 attendees included professionals from the tile and stone industries. Attendees were 77 percent from the United States and 23 percent from other countries.

Coverings 2023 saw a record-breaking level of participation from distributors, architects and designers, contractors, fabricators, installers, retailers and other segments. There were more than 1,000 exhibitor booths at the show, as well as 24 learning sessions, 9 floor tours, 9 podcasts, 95 presentations and demonstrations, nine tour shows, and nine show floor visits.

Coverings 2023 was a success in terms of positive networking and business. This is according to Jenn Sheinold president of Taffy Event Strategies. We are delighted with the positive feedback we receive from Coverings attendees, sponsors and exhibitors.

Coverings has announced its growth for Coverings in 2023, following the recent “Fastest 50 Award” for growth of net square footage shown floor between Coverings 2020 and Coverings 2030.

The Coverings Lounge was a comfortable and designated area on the show floor where attendees could network, listen to industry leaders and gain knowledge. They also had access to happy hours and valuable prizes. This centrally located area brought together the four key tenets – “Health & Wellness,” “Sustainability,” “Outdoor Spaces,”and “Timeless Luxury.” Through various activations such as displays, live demonstrations and relevant market trends and many hands-on experiences, this area converged on Coverings’s core themes of “Sustainability,” and “Outdoor Spaces.”

Coverings 2023 featured an Art Tile Village with creative displays of interest to architects and designers. The Art Tile Village was a tribute to artisans who preserve old-world traditions by creating handmade art and specialty tile. It featured a variety of creative tile art created by local and regional experts.

The Distributor Lounge was a new addition to Coverings in 2023, sponsored by Ceramic Tile Distributors Association and North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors. The new, energetic lounge offered distributors a relaxed space to relax and meet with colleagues and customers while enjoying light refreshments and snacks.

Coverings 2023 attendees had the opportunity to view more than 1,000 displays. These included the finest ceramic tiles and natural stones, as well as innovative tools, equipment and supplies. Attendees were also able to see a wide range of the top tile trends for this year. Alena Capra of Alena Capra Designs and Coverings Ambassador, Alena Capra was on hand to present and tour the attendees with several presentations.

The show featured a variety of educational sessions, including the return of Coverings’ extensive offering. These included three tracks: “Installation & Fabrication,” “Materials & Trends,” and “Workforce & Profits.” Participants were given the latest updates on ceramic tile and stone as materials of choice and also received ideas to grow sales and business in the coming year.
