California is famous for its gorgeous weather, famous residents and pacific coasts. The latter was the inspiration behind this pool’s design. Craig Bragdy Design took hours and hours to complete the coral reef. It included animals like jellyfish, turtles, and clownfish.
Craig Bragdy, a Welsh family-owned company, has been operating since the 1950s. In 2019, the company merged with Wafi Group, and its headquarters were moved from the United Kingdom into the heart of Dubai. Craig Bragdy, a Welsh family-owned company, has been in operation since the 1950s. In 2019, it merged with the Wafi Group and moved its headquarters from United Kingdom to Dubai.
The Craig Bragdy Team collaborated with the client to design this project. They then used C.G.I. The team used computer images and C.G.I. to turn the client’s ideas and words into illustrations. A large sheet of clay, once approved, was then laid out on the factory floor. The clay was then cut by a group of artists who were dedicated to the project. They shaped and formed the coral reef. The group describes cutting as drawing but instead of a crayon they use a blade.
The clay sheet started to break into tiles as the design took shape. It took several firings to get the tiles ready for glazing. This process involves brushing, layering, and spraying in order to achieve different effects.
The team referred to the approved original design as they worked by hand to ensure they stayed within the client’s request. The design will always be slightly different from the final product. However, these differences are usually unnoticeable and can often be just as beautiful.
The tiles were then moved to the backyard of the client, where a swimming pool was built and filled with water. Coral reefs are said to shine brightest when the pacific sun sets and the breeze from the coast settles.
