Australian Mans Pool Invaded by Thousands of Frogs

The pool season in the United States is now over, but Australia’s is just beginning. Many frogs have infested a swimming pool in New South Wales after heavy rains and flooding.

The floodwaters in Wagga Wagga flooded three weeks ago. Nearly three weeks later, the amphibians arrived and are making a mad dash for their property. They have had a difficult time trying to remove them.

It is not unusual to see some frogs or other animals in the pool. They are naturally attracted to water. In the summer, you might see frogs swimming in the pool. Hamilton’s family is dealing with frogs at a Biblical scale. It’s easy to see that the pool is being used for breeding purposes with this level of frog population growth.

The city was devastated by flooding in November after the Murrumbidgee River reached an unprecedented peak height of 9.72 metres.

Floods forced many animals like spiders, snakes and now frogs to flee their homes and seek refuge from the elements.

Roy Hamilton and his wife spend many hours each morning picking up thousands upon thousands of frogs to release into a nearby stream. Yet, the amphibians continue to return to their pool.

This pool is now completely overrun by thousands of frogs.

Hamilton stated, “Just curious if anyone else has frog problems in their pools after the floods.”

“Think about how I might swim in the creek this morning.”

Hamilton explained to Storyful that the dogs come in at night so I don’t run the pump and collect the frogs each day. Our dogs look like children who have had too many ice creams from their dogs eating frogs. They don’t touch them anymore. Snakes are fat because they love to eat Frogs.

They aren’t at their wits’ end yet. The couple is looking for sound advice to rid their pool of the pest and get it back in order for summer. Summer began in Australia on December 1.

They’re now saying that there are hundreds of frogs. I don’t know much about math, but it seems more like thousands. Talk about a frog problem epic in scale!
