A swimming pool housed in the Aquatics Centre for the Paris 2024 Olympics will run on 90 per cent renewable energy.

More than 4,000 solar panels cover the roof of the aquatic centre, which will help heat up the water.

The centre will have 5,000 seats, of which 2,000 are removable. The site is one of two facilities being built in the Paris region for the games and is the most expensive structure, with a budget of $175 million. It is expected to host artistic swimming, water polo, and diving events.
