Proclamation Honors 20 th Anniversary Float Like a Duck Water Safety Initiative

(Las Vegas NV) December 13, 2023 – Joseph Vassallo was awarded a proclamation by the Clark County Board of Commissioners at the Joint Meeting of the Commissioners on the 5 th in the Commission Chambers of the Clark County Government Center.

The District C Commissioner Ross Miller submitted a proclamation to recognize the 20 years of dedication and success achieved by the Float like a Duck water safety campaign.

Meeting Agenda Item Sec 2- 1:

Proclaim Float Like A Duck and Paragon Pools’ 20 th anniversary. The campaign focuses on water safety and drowning prevention by providing consumers, non profit organizations, and other water safety advocates with information, tips and videos.

The proclamation, signed by the whole Board, lists many of the achievements in the initiative and concludes with the following note…

We thank them for their dedication and service, as well as their contributions to residents and visitors in Clark County. We also invite all citizens to celebrate and acknowledge this important program, which promotes water safety and swimming skills.

Float Like A Duck was founded by Paragon Pools President Joseph M. Vassallo in part to support the company’s philanthropic efforts. Its mission is Educate the public about the importance and joys of watersports while promoting safety!

And Paragon Pools on 20 years of success with their water-safety program!” Your program, which was launched in 2003, has become a staple of the community and has made a huge impact locally as well as internationally. We thank you for the opportunity to acknowledge your dedication, generosity and hard work to the public, says Commissioner Ross Miller.

Vassallo notes that “Clark County is an active partner in the Float Like A Duck campaign since 2015, when we worked together on a PSA about water safety.” We appreciate their continued support and we are confident that our combined efforts will continue to have a positive impact on the community. We want to inform families about the steps they can do to keep their family members safe. This includes educating them on situations and giving them a proactive safety tip.

Founded in 2003 by Float Like A Duck, the water safety initiative is celebrating its 20th year with a number of family-friendly, positive projects. The mission of the initiative is to educate the public about the importance of water safety and celebrate the joys of the water sports.
