Poolwerx announces its latest franchise agreement which will see eight Performance Pool & Spa stores converted into Poolwerx Franchises in the Midwest.
Tom MacNally is a professional with extensive experience in the pool industry. He will be overseeing the operations of the new Poolwerx locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Since I was 15, I have worked in the pool business. MacNally says, “It’s my only job.” My journey began by handling the retail side of three of our locations. Over the years, my role gradually expanded to my current position as operations manager for eight locations.
MacNally said that the reason for the conversion was the ability to grow. MacNally, the team and MacNally already operated a large pool service and retail business. However, they knew that the Poolwerx partnership would offer even greater efficiency and scalability.
MacNally says, “We’ve been growing pretty quickly on our own over the last couple of years.” We’ve been learning as we go. We knew that joining forces with Poolwerx, a leader in the industry, would help us take our business to the next stage.
Poolwerx is the partner MacNally’s team was looking for. Poolwerx franchisees, who offer a variety of services from residential and commercial pools cleaning to retail sales and repairs, have averaged $2.1 million in annual revenue, according to 2023 FDD. The company’s expertise in opening franchises, as well as its multi-revenue stream business model, provides a strong foundation for the future.
Poolwerx North America’s CEO Andrew Kidd says, “Our franchise partners love Poolwerx because of its structured model and strategic support. It allows them to scale up their business efficiently.” We equip them with the confidence and drive to navigate the complex pool industry. This franchise provides a comprehensive solution to the fragmented pool industry, giving potential franchisees a chance for a rewarding and lucrative business.
Poolwerx wants to make conversions as smooth and complete as possible. They have a team and a program in place to transform the stores into Poolwerx outlets — new store layouts with different paint colors, designs and banners. MacNally says that everything is unified. Their hands-on approach means that franchisees won’t be left to navigate the change alone.
Poolwerx says the benefits do not end there. Poolwerx’s extensive software system, business planning and marketing tools will help with the transition. MacNally says that as a large business, Poolwerx brings a wealth of resources to the table. Smaller businesses simply cannot afford them or use them. They can help you with adding services, figuring out your books and even pricing strategies. They can help you to become more successful, profitable and efficient.
MacNally believes that the comprehensive training provided to new Poolwerx franchisees and technicians in areas such as water chemistry, hydrology, and other vital topics will prove invaluable. The state-of the-art Dallas training facility provides hands-on experiences and troubleshooting to transform individuals with various backgrounds into competent pool care experts.
MacNally’s mission for the future is unbridled expansion. The team aims to use the Poolwerx partnership in order to open up to two franchise locations per year across the Midwest.
MacNally says, “Poolwerx’s focus is on scaling. Opening franchises is their main claim to fame.” We see this as a collaboration to reach our goals. They are a bigger machine than us. We are excited about the potential and can’t look forward to what lies ahead.
