For this picturesque West Coast property, a team from Alka Pool Construction Ltd. in Burnaby, British Columbia, designed a 3 x 6.1 m (10 x 20 ft) infinity pool which seamlessly blends the client’s indoor and outdoor living spaces, creating a functional cocktail pool. Constructed using pneumatically applied concrete, the pool features a navy speckle tile finish that contrasts boldly with the neutral palette and concrete coping.
The inviting water draws the eye and complements the creamy-toned decking that extends throughout the indoor and outdoor spaces. Guests are greeted by an impressive 3.3-m (11-ft) water wall at the entrance, while the soothing sounds of the infinity edge cascade along the staircase to the main living area cancels out nearby traffic noise and adds ambience. To maximize space, the construction team incorporated a spacious 1.8 x 1.8 m (6 x 6 ft) inset hot tub within the pool structure, featuring a roomy coping that doubles as additional seating. Located near the house, the hot tub offers year-round enjoyment.
