Hayward Holdings, Inc. (Hayward), a global pool equipment and associated systems manufacturer/marketer, has received Energy Star certification on all its variable-speed pumps (VSPs).
Energy Star is a certification awarded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to high-performance, energy-efficient products that meet the Department of Energy’s latest energy efficiency standards.
The company claims that its VSPs include four models, including the TriStar XL and TriStar 950/900. MaxFlo VS500, and Super Pump VS 700. Users can program pumps to maximize energy efficiency while not compromising performance. Quieter operation and better filtration as well as lower hydraulic stress to other pool pad products is a bonus. Dynamic control of pump speeds in harmony with water feature can also produce dramatic backyard effects.
Hayward pool owners who own any of the five Hayward VSPs can now qualify for rebates from local utilities through Energy Star. Consumers can save up to $500 by submitting the pump model number, which remains unchanged. Energy Star-certified models are on average 65 percent more efficient than traditional models and can save pool owners hundreds of dollars per year in operating costs depending on the region.
Kevin Holleran is Hayward’s President and CEO. “I’m incredibly proud that Hayward engineers, designers and product managers have achieved Energy Star compliance on our full-featured, variable-speed pump suite,” he says. The investment in design that increases efficiency without sacrificing the performance is what makes Hayward’s products so popular among U.S. pool professionals.
