WhiteWater, a B.C.-based manufacturer of water attractions, was awarded the IAAPA Brass rings in Orlando, Fla. for its innovative, operator-focused offerings, which were recognized as “achievements that excel throughout the global attraction industry.”
The company has been awarded 40 Brass Rings Awards over the years.
The company’s racing slide Blasterango Battle was awarded “Best New Product for Water Park Ride/Attraction”, while Vantage, its virtual pass processing software, won the “Best Product or Services Used by Consumers” award. Vantage was also awarded the coveted “IMPACT Award”, which is a distinction given to the winners of all categories for the best new products or services.
Blasterango Battle is already attracting a lot of attention on social media. It was “The Edge” at Soaky Mountain Waterpark, Tennessee’s first season. The water coaster features riders racing through a variety of sensations: from mega drops to uphill blasts to zero G. There are also separated dark flumes that contain AquaLucent colours and sound effects to intensify the experience. Boomerango walls, which are side-by-side, immerse riders in themed backgrounds that can be used as both online and offline background pictures.
Operators are also considered when designing the ride. Features include Smart Blast technology to save energy and water, removable floor panels to make maintenance easier, and RTM fiberglass parts to prolong the life of the ride.
Vantage, WhiteWater’s software arm introduced an automated season-pass processing system. This simplifies the process for guests and operators. It eliminates long lines at parks’ beginnings as well as friction throughout. This new feature was first implemented in Florida at Island H2O Water Park this year. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
This process replaces the old manual method of waiting at ticket offices to redeem a voucher bought online. Then, you fill out pen forms and take a picture before a physical card is issued. According to the judges of the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards, this process “will have the greatest impact on the attractions sector.”
Paul Chutter, WhiteWater president, stated that all award-winning products share one thing: they provide a great experience for guests, whether digital or physical. They also consider the operator’s needs, such as reducing operating costs and minimizing staffing requirements. We are proud to be recognized for our hard work and expertise in all areas of the industry, from product management to project management and even installation.
