Dec. There will be a wide range of learning opportunities for all segments of the tile and stone industry, including interactive sessions and live demonstrations.

The Coverings 2023 event, which will take place in Orlando, Florida on April 18-21, 2023 at the Orange County Convention Center, offers a variety of educational opportunities that focus on a range of trends and related topics. All learning opportunities will be focused on Coverings’ core tenets. These include “Sustainability,” Health & Wellness, “Outdoor Spaces,” as well as “Timeless Luxury.”

The Education Program covering 2023 is designed to give attendees the necessary resources and know-how to stay current in today’s highly competitive tile & stone market.

Coverings 2023 will feature three education stages on the floor for participants to learn about the latest innovations in tile and stone industries. They include the Return of the Installation Innovation Stage, Trends & Solutions Stage, as well as a new addition to the Fabricator Stage in 2023.

The show’s three strategic learning tracks will be the focus of educational sessions: “Installation & Fabrication,” Material & Trends”, and “Workforce & Profits.”

The “Installation & Fabrication” track will provide attendees with industry knowledge and the latest techniques for installing and fabricating tile and stone. Participants in the “Workforce & Profits” sessions will learn new, successful business strategies and tactics to improve their ability to grow and manage their workforces. They will also be able find practical labor solutions and tips for maximizing bottom-line profits. The “Materials & Trends” sessions will provide updates on the most recent trends, design inspirations, and techniques in the world of stone and tile.

Coverings 2023 will feature a particularly valuable session: Today’s Leading Sustainability Drivers & Their Impact on The Tile Industry. Attendees can gain an insight into the market for sustainability and the current conversation about carbon emissions. They will also learn how to improve the requirements of environmental transparency, standardized environmental performance, and human health optimization relevant to product ingredients. This session will discuss how green building products, projects and practices are being increasingly scrutinized for embodied CO2 and how companies are continuing to strive toward “carbon neutrality” and “net zero” practices.

Teresa McGrath will be the chief research officer for Healthy Building Network. She will lead “Luxury Vinyl tile’s Carbon and Toxic Implications,” one the featured sessions in the Coverings 2023 theme “Health & Wellness.” McGrath will discuss the unreported health and environmental impacts of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). LVT will be discussed as a concern by health professionals and builders. Vinyl material can introduce harmful toxins, such as volatile organic compound (VOCs), into living spaces over time.

The Coverings 2023 “Outdoor Spaces” tenet session is a must-see. “Tile Installation Systems and Systems for Exterior Projects” will be featured by National Tile Contractor Association (NTCA), trainers, and contractors. They will feature case studies of successful outdoor projects using natural stone and porcelain as well as glass and ceramic tiles. This informational opportunity will provide an opportunity to learn about new technology and install systems, as well as discuss product trends in various formats, sizes, and thicknesses.

Coverings 2023’s “Timeless Luxury” sessions will feature many engaging sessions including Understanding how to market and sell to your wealthiest prospects. This informative must-see will give attendees the keys to selling and marketing to the affluent as well as the proven method of understanding their level and wealth. Showgoers will be able to examine each person’s needs, desires, and fears and review their five levels of wealth.

As a Coverings 2023 educational partnership, the University of Ceramic Tile and Stone will present “How to Be a Professional Architectural Responsive to Develop Bullet Proof Specifications and Get an Order” as a co-located learning experience. This presentation will be held Monday, April 17th, which is the day before Coverings 2023 opens. This four-hour classroom training aims to help you become a successful and professional architectural sales representative. This course will discuss and dissect how to create a “Bulletproof Specification”, which is a specification that is resistant to substitutes and value engineering.
