Fluidra to Launch Climate Action Week 2024 in October

Fluidra, a global leader in pool and wellness equipment, has announced the return of Climate Action Week — taking place from October 21 to 27. The event will spotlight Fluidra’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, focusing on reducing the environmental impact of the pool and wellness industry.

Building on last year’s success, Climate Action Week 2024 will highlight Fluidra’s efforts to minimize its carbon footprint and promote more efficient pool technologies. As part of these efforts, Fluidra will plant a tree for every Jandy variable-speed pump and cartridge filter and/or Cover-Pools automatic pool cover purchased during the week. Since the promotion began two years ago, Fluidra has already planted more than 35,000 trees, contributing significantly to global reforestation. This initiative encourages more sustainable choices while making a tangible environmental impact.

The tree-planting promotion is one of many ways Fluidra aims to drive sustainable innovation and make a tangible environmental impact by incentivizing the adoption of energy-efficient products.

“Climate change affects every aspect of our lives, including how we enjoy our pools and wellness spaces,” says Brad Parker, vice president of marketing at Fluidra North America. “By choosing energy-efficient solutions like variable-speed pumps and cartridge filters, pool professionals can help reduce energy consumption and conserve water while simultaneously making a direct contribution to our global reforestation efforts.”

Key focus areas for Fluidra include:

  • Tree-Planting Promotion: For every variable-speed pump, cartridge filter or automatic pool cover purchased during Climate Action Week, Fluidra will plant a tree, supporting reforestation projects across the globe that help combat climate change.
  • Driving Environmental Innovation and Policy: Fluidra is working with environmental organizations and industry bodies to help shape regulations aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of the pool industry.
  • Setting Standards in Sustainable Technology: Fluidra is advancing the development of energy-efficient pool equipment, water conservation solutions, and eco-friendly materials that set new standards for environmental responsibility. These efforts are designed to not only meet but exceed current regulatory requirements, paving the way for a more sustainable future in the pool and wellness industry.
  • Education and Outreach: Fluidra will lead the conversation on sustainability in the pool and wellness industry by providing expert insights and actionable strategies. Through various channels, Fluidra will empower customers and partners with cutting-edge knowledge on reducing environmental impact and adopting innovative, climate-friendly pool solutions that drive long-term sustainability.

“We understand that environmental responsibility is not a one-time effort; it’s a long-term commitment,” adds Parker. “By continuing to develop and advocate for sustainable solutions, we’re showing that sustainability can go hand-in-hand with luxury and innovation. Climate Action Week reminds us all the role we play in reducing the environmental impact of pool ownership.”
